Our Approach

WeatherMapping was built around a simple idea, that weather intelligence should be a practical tool for decision making, not just a source of data or pretty pictures that dont help anyone. Our platform bridges the gap between complex scientific information and intuitive, user-driven control, allowing anyone to explore, compare, and visualize weather patterns at a professional level.

While most mapping systems focus on hourly snapshots or broad monthly summaries, WeatherMapping operates at the daily scale; the timescale where real decisions are made. Agriculture, insurance, energy, and logistics sectors depend on daily data to understand risk, plan operations, and adapt to change, and that’s where WeatherMapping delivers.

Every map, variable, and dataset can be tailored to YOUR exact needs, from selecting forecast ranges and units to customizing visual layers and regions. By combining daily precision with deep customization, WeatherMapping provides an analytical edge unmatched by conventional weather mapping platforms.

Trusted by Global Industry Leaders

WeatherMapping delivers high-resolution global weather intelligence used daily by energy traders, agricultural firms, financial institutions, and risk managers to quantify exposure, validate forecasts, and support time-sensitive decisions worldwide.

Serving 100+ global clients managing billions in weather-exposed risk.

Our History

WeatherMapping began in 2018 as a simple internal visualization tool within Marcus Weather Inc. (a WeatherMapping.com partner) a market research company serving hedge funds, commodity analysts, and international food producers. Originally designed to help analysts interpret global weather patterns for economic and agricultural forecasting, the tool quickly gained attention from clients who requested direct access for their own internal reporting.

This early demand led to the creation of Marcus Weather Mapping, an internal client platform that allowed users to generate and customize their own weather maps. Over time, additional features such as satellite imagery layers and automated map generation were introduced, transforming it from a static viewer into a dynamic mapping system for professionals.

As interest spread beyond the original client base, the platform was redeveloped as a standalone application and transitioned under a new subsidiary, Weather Data LLC, to serve a broader audience. The move marked a shift from a private research tool to a full-scale, publicly accessible weather intelligence platform.

In mid-2025, the WeatherMapping.com domain was acquired to unify the brand and complete the global domain portfolio. The platform was refactored from the ground up to operate on modern cloud infrastructure - enabling faster data processing, real-time updates, and scalable access for users worldwide.

Today, WeatherMapping continues to build on its origins in data science and market research, providing advanced weather intelligence and automation tools to industries that rely on accurate, daily-scale insight.
